CHILI Publish announces release of CHILI Publisher 3.5

A new version

CHILI Publish today announced the release of CHILI Publisher 3.5. Packed with new features, improved functionality and the latest 3D visualisation options, CHILI Publisher 3.5 offers an unseen level of editing functionality in a fully customisable, browser-based application.

In CHILI Publisher 3.0 we introduced 3D folding. This was a major breakthrough in enabling users to visualise content in a three-dimensional way and thus make more informed design decisions. The new release of CHILI Publish takes 3D to the next level.

Animation
In addition to animating a document (folding panels), it is now also possible to animate the camera around the object. These animations can also use ease-in and ease-out functionality. The result is a more attractive view of a document (or combined documents).

Separated preview integration
3D visualisation was an option in the workspace. Now the 3D preview can be loaded separately into a web application.

In many print applications text will be scaled to fit the frame or media size. In version 3.5, CHILI Publisher now supports horizontal and vertical scaling of a text box. Skewing of a frame is now also supported.

Some more features

  • 3D Folding advanced – Define camera positions, rotation and zoom-level for smoother animations.
  • Composed materials – Combine multiple documents and/or assets into one single 3D model.
  • Font preview – Based on user feedback, CHILI Publisher 3.5 now features the ability to preview the actual look of fonts within a document
  • Search in datasources – In version 3.5 you can search on the content of a variable field, making it possible to preview the shortest, longest or any other record in a dataset.

PDF/VT

PDF/VT is an international standard published by ISO in 2010. It defines the use of PDF as an exchange format optimized for variable and transactional printing. With support for international standards, CHILI Publisher is committed to providing the best possible way to use the editor in a workflow. Adobe®, as well as Global Graphics, support the PDF/VT standard in their respective RIPs; Adobe® PDF PrintEngine (APPE) and Harlequin RIP.

IDML export

CHILI Publisher documents can now be exported to IDML (InDesign® Markup Language). This export format improves compatibility of files with a wider range of Adobe® InDesign® versions. IDML is an XML-based format, introduced in Adobe® InDesign® CS4, for representing InDesign® content.
